(re)New(ing the) Blog!

Ok blog followers (both of you), I know it has been a while, but wait no longer! New life-stages for both Andrew and I have plunged our little project into darkness, but now it has lifted, for me at least. Andrew's soul has gone to be with the "real world", so I ask that you continue to keep him and his wife, Lauren, in your prayers. (Ok, so the "real world" might not devour souls, but still, let's always remember to pray for them.)

So what will the "new" blog look like, especially since it's just me now? Here is a glimpse into its promising future!

We will explore three basic topic areas at the hopeful rate of 1 post/day. The 3 areas are:

1. The Church: Ephesians 3:6: This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
  • As believers, we are part of something much larger than the individual called the Body of Christ. We will explore this area through 3 lenses: History, Scripture, and Modern Culture
2. Theology: Philippians 1:7: It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.
  • A bit more of a stretch to stay on this partakers theme, but the point is the "defense and confirmation of the gospel". We must know this gospel before we can confirm or defend it, and we are obligated, under grace, to grow in wisdom and understanding of who God is and what His word says.
3. Personal Devotion / Spirituality: 2 Peter 1:3-5: 3His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him his own glory and excellence, 4by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
  • From the beginning of this young blog's life, a critical feature has been providing resources, reflections, etc. to help each other grow in our daily lives of "being conformed in the image of Christ", and that vision will continue. Andrew was the expert on this, but I will hopefully manage to squeak out some decent posts here.

Hopefully this sounds appealing and I will do my best to make it worth your (and my) time. I would love to have some help from some guest / periodical co-bloggers (and maybe even a special appearance from Andrew?)

Also, a necessary disclaimer: I don't pretend to be an expert on any of these things, and there are many blogs by far wiser people, but my goal is to make accessible to others those things which are accessible to me and connect an audience to important (but sometimes difficult) items in a simpler, more relevant way.
