Holy Desperation

1 Corinthians 3:1-3

But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.  I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it.  And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh.  For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?

As you might be able to see, I am following DA Carson through 1 Corinthians in the The Cross and Christian Ministry.  He makes the point of this passage that it isn't a strict division between types of Christians, so I want to pass that point along first and foremost.

But look at what Paul says here.  He wanted to feed them with solid food, but they were not ready.  We need to mature.  We need to grow, we need to learn more about our God and how we can be more like him.  Strive.  Grow.  Mature.
